TIGER MENTOR CAMP

RETURN TO SCHOOL

With the current announcement of the plans Wake County intends to implement for students to return to school, we know that many parents will have a difficult time in organizing their schedule to accommodate the two weeks in which their student(s) will be participating in "on-line schooling" at home. White Tiger is currently looking to possibly organize a "TIGER MONITORING CAMP" which would allow ELEMENTARY SCHOOL students a safe place to conduct their online classes with available White Tiger Counselors on hand to Supervise and offer some assistance (technical and otherwise) to the students as needed.

Initially, our plan would be for Camp to run with an adult on-site from 8:00am to 4:15pm with Camp Counselors on-hand during school hours from 9:15am-3:45pm to make sure students are staying focused on work, help with logging in to appropriate class website, and possibly some other minor help. Activities would be provided for Students in Camp during the before and after classroom hours (8:00am-9:15am and 3:45pm-4:15pm).

Estimated cost would be $150/week with an additional charge for late pick-up (to 6:00pm) and Parents would have to commit to a full WCPSS traditional calendar semester of August through January. The Camp will run on the WCPSS traditional calendar including workdays and holidays.

We are limited to finalizing our plans based on when the Governor and WCPSS announces which groups students will be assigned to.  We are asking for Parents with serious interest to notify us so that we can best plan and staff based on our gaining the needed guidance from the state and county.  Remember that you would ultimately be agreeing to a full semester commitment, and the day the assignments are sent to families, you will need to notify us so we can fill in the appropriate slots.  If there is enough interest, we will then go forward with determining our availability while prioritizing to White Tiger members first.

All children would need to provide their own technological device and headphones for the camp (White Tiger not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items).  They also will require a packed lunch, 1-2 bottles of water (or water bottle), school supplies, etc.

The students could bring a snack for just before it starts, and another for a break in the day or after school day is over.  Lunch has to be kept in lunch box/bag (no fridge or microwave)
