WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY TRAINING?
Martial arts are unique in that they offer so many different benefits. Martial arts teaches self defense, and can provide for weight loss or muscle gain. The focus and concentration improves attention span leading to better school grades or job performance. You will learn self discipline and self control. You will gain confidence and self esteem. Martial arts increases flexibility, coordination, cardiovascular endurance and overall physical fitness. Martial arts is structured around honor and respect. There is also a meditation aspect to the arts. Some arts we teach can be used in competition - all the way to the Olympics. Martial arts provides a social activity, a way to have fun and make new friends and a family bonding experience as you set, strive toward and achieve goals together.

WHAT STYLE SHOULD I TAKE?
• Taekwondo: kicking, punching, character traits, Olympic sport…ideal for children age 5 through adult
• Tiger Tots: basics of Taekwondo (no contact) and tumbling…ideal for preschoolers
• Hapkido: flipping, throwing, pressure points…ideal for teens, adults, law enforcement, security positions, military
• Kung fu - Wing Chun: “The most efficient martial art” -Ip Man. Excellent style for adults and seniors.
• Lady Tigers: specialized self defense program just for women. No flipping or sparring...but we’ve added in the use of weapons: pen, cellphone, water bottle, etc. Still confused? We can help 919-469-3553.
WHAT ARE THE LENGTHS OF MEMBERSHIPS OFFERED?
There are many ways to get started: take a tour, take a trial lesson or enroll in a short term trial package. Then membership is offered by the month. There are huge discounts and free month offers for joining teams and earning goals.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
If you are unable to finish your membership for whatever reason, you may cancel your membership with 48 hours written notice. Contact MasterRondy@gmail.com. If you received a discount for selecting a package rate, your membership will be prorated back to the regular price for only the portion you used only. The office will inform you of your prorated difference, once paid, your membership will end immediately.
WILL MY TUITION RATE CHANGE?
Earning higher rank and becomming a member of a team will actually LOWER your prices.
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN A CLASS?
Scheduling is flexible and student ranks change all the time, so the exact number in each class may vary. As instructors, we control the ratio of students per instructor. White belts or beginners classes will have a higher number of instructors on the floor. Our physical size may be very large, but we also have a large number of certified instructors. The ratio of students per instructor is very low. Everyone receives the individual attention they need. Most schools make a majority of their income off of private lessons - you will not need to spend the extra money here. You may also take advantage of open mat for extra help.
IS THERE AN ORIENTATION I CAN WATCH?

HOW LONG ARE CLASSES?
The classes for preschoolers are 30 minutes long. Most other classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour long with some advanced classes lasting 90 minutes. Special seminars may last 2-5 hours.
ARE THERE FAMILY DISCOUNTS?
Yes!!! The second family member will receive 25% off, the third will receive 50% off. The fourth family member and beyond must register as students, but will receive free tuition.
HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK MAY I ATTEND CLASS?
The choice is yours. We recommend at least 2 times a week so you are learning at a steady pace. We have some students that can only train twice a week and some that come almost every day. We will help you find a training package and schedule that works for you.
AM I LOCKED INTO A CLASS SCHEDULE?
No, the flexibility is great. You may pick and choose your classes to fit into your schedule, they may be different from week to week. No need to make reservations, just show up for your class.
WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?
Since our schedule is so flexible, just make up missed classes. Call us if you are going to miss more than a week or two so we don't worry about you.
WHAT IF I GO OUT OF TOWN?
If you are on a membership that allows a set number of classes per week, simply make up all your missed classes during your membership period. So if you are going on a short vacation, you may begin making up classes before you go, some when you come back, save them for a rainy day - whatever is convenient for you. If you are unable to attend for a longer period of time, simply turn off your memberships. You may always repay the registration fee and join again at a later date.
DO YOU ACCEPT TRANSFERS?
Yes. We believe that anything earned should never be taken away. You may transfer to White Tiger at your current rank. You may simply wear your existing belt and you test when you are ready for the next level.
WHAT ARE THE COLOR OF THE BELTS?
White Tiger is WTF (World Taekwondo Federation), recognized the the International Olympic Committee and we use only the recognized colors of the Olympic rings. Our belt colors are:

WHAT IF MY CURRENT RANK DOES NOT MATCH THIS SYSTEM?
Some schools have additional colors added to their rank system. If you have a different color belt than the colors we use, count the number of testings you have completed to determine your rank in this school. You will transfer in at exactly your same level.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EARN A BLACK BELT?
On National average, it takes 3-5 years to earn a black belt. Mostly it depends upon the student. A student that only practices while they are in class is going to progress more slowly than the student who trains more often or practices a lot on their own. It is a very fair system: what goes in is what comes out. You are not keeping up or being pulled back with a class, you are learning and earning rank at your own individual pace. We recommend that you train in ata least 2 classes per week. If you need less, see the office about special packages, if you need more, see the office to add on.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EARN A BLACK BELT AT WHITE TIGER?
Because White Tiger is so large and has multiple classes going on at the same time, we can offer many classes. What is unique about White Tiger is the offering of rank specific classes. Usually a school can offer "all belt" classes. At White Tiger we offer “ low rank, intermediate and high rank and specialty" classes. No matter what level your are, there are classes specifically for your rank. Your class is for your level. This greatly increases your level of learning. Many White Tiger students have earned a black belt in 3 years.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
I hand selected the White Tiger teaching staff. White Tiger offers an incredible employment package with benefits, and we can afford to be selective in who we hire to work here. Masters are CONSIDERED if they have earned at least a Bachelors Degree from a university and have acquired at least a 4th Degree Black Belt in martial arts, or have won a World Championship. Instructors are then SELECTED for their ability to have patience, knowledge, skill and understanding with the students. White Tiger is a school focused on the achievements of the students. This is a school for the students.
WHY IS WHITE TIGER SO BIG?
White Tiger is big, the largest school in the world. White Tiger began in 1996 the same size as all the other schools in the area. Happy students referred new students, they are happy and they refer others. Existing students enjoyed their training and they stay. Attrition is very low. We don't do any form of paid advertising. My scouting connections from being a member of the Korean Tiger Team enabled me to continue bringing in the best quality instructors. The building is so large because I felt I owed it to my students to provide ample space and the newest equipment for their training. I invested our success back into the school so we may all enjoy it.
WHAT AMENITIES DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER?
White Tiger is a Family Fitness Facility - we have something for the entire family. The facility is 24,000 sq. ft. We currently have 4 training floors, suspended running track, Swain matted floors, supervised child care with Tiger Tube play system and 20’ spiral slide, cedar saunas, private lockers, showers, tanning, full weight room, cardio corner, rock wall, flipping harness, 30” trampoline, Koi pond, cargo nets, homework station, cafe seating and free wi-fi. These ammenities are free to the students and the parents because we have them. Future locations may not include all the amenities.
ARE WHITE TIGER PRICES HIGHER THAN OTHER SCHOOLS?
No, when determining how to set our rates, we call around to find what other schools are charging. We set our rates right in the middle. We are not the cheapest, not the most expensive. When choosing a school, it is important to select a school that fits your schedule and will help you meet your goals - not based upon a few dollars more or less a month. We are focused on offering the best training, not on tuition.
WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL COSTS TO TRAINING?
Equipment: you will need a uniform and a belt to begin training ($55) many starter packages include a free uniform - ask me. Advanced students will need sparring gear (protective gear) if they wish to attend the sparring class ($150-$185). There are always incentives to earn FREE equipment or FREE additional uniforms, or even to earn your next year of tuition entirely for free. See the office for details.
Testing: Testing is optional. You will begin with a White Belt, the price for the first test to Yellow Stripe is $45, testings go up by $5 increments. Black Belt Testing offers continued training incentives, making the final cost for this test $165. Testing for second degree and higher, or being a member of a team will actually earn you money.
Attending activities: participating in extra activities is also optional. White Tiger offers several competitions throughout the year. Tournament entry fees range from FREE to $25, you may win trophies or medals. There are many events such as parent date night, dances, sleepovers, camping trips, beach trips, mountain trips, special seminars and special famous guests. These events are all optional and vary in prices.
Associations: aside from the one-time registration fee, there are no association fees or annual fees to be paid.
ARE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE?
Yes, many. Family member discounts, Corporate discounts, Discounts for earning Black Belts, Discounts for joining a team, Discounts for referring others, Group Discounts, and many others.
We offer a military discount of 20% off.
DO THE INSTRUCTORS SPEAK ENGLISH?
Yes. All the classes at White Tiger are taught in English. All our instructors speak English. Students are taught Korean terminology in class. If you require assistance in another language, we have assistants that also speak: Spanish, Korean and Chinese.
IS WHITE TIGER A CHAIN OR FRANCHISE?
No, there is only one White Tiger. This school is recognized and a member of several professional organizations: World Taekwondo Federation, World Taekwon Moodoo Federation, Korean Hapkido Federation, Cary Chamber of Commerce, Korean Tigers Associated Schools, YEO, MAIA, NAPMA, Kukkiwon, United States Taekwondo Association and many others.
ARE THERE OTHER WHITE TIGER LOCATIONS?
Only two. White Tiger's goal is based upon quality, not quantity. Other schools may attempt to give the impression that they are associated with this school, but they are not - simply copy cats. Some schools that deliberately attempt to look like White Tiger have been served Cease and Desist orders.
